This visit was way back in July but I thought I’d share it with you as I recently re-found the images I took from that day!
Not only this garden was full of photo opportunities I also bumped into Nadine from EatingEdinburgh and her man and got talking about gardens and plants! Nadine also has found new love and passion for the “outside room” so with that and food & drink we have lots to chat about!
The garden or estate is pretty huge and there are so many corners of it to explore. Nestled at the side of the Pentland Hills, it’s fairly sheltered by the big old acorns, oaks and pine trees.
Standing in the lush green setting is Newhall House. It’s very grand as you can see.
I remember buying pink phlox, which has still to be dug into our new garden! But don’t have a current photo of it for you to see what it’s like but I will do a plant post very soon.
I love catching statues with the moss and different angles as with getting archways.
There were many architectural elements to the garden too, which added height and different textures.
Some more colour taking from that lovely breezy day!
I visited Newhall Garden via Scotland’s Open Garden scheme – well worth it!
