Happy Burn’s Day!

Ok I know it’s a day late but It’s the thought that counts!

Last night I made neeps and mash to go alongside the Haggis and whisky sauce.  I was really happy with this mash as was Mr C.  Because I didn’t go heavy on the seasoning both neeps and mash married the haggis and whisky sauce rather well. A rather large dollop of whisky went into the double cream as did Dijon mustard 😀

So I’m sharing our dinner with you all … ok it’s just a photo!

Fact: Burns Supper originates from 1801, when nine men who knew Burns met on the fifth anniversary of his death.  After enjoying this evening, the men agreed to meet the year after and so the Burns Supper was created to celebrate the life and works of Rabbie Burns.  Little did they know then, that they would cause this phenomenon!
